Design Rationale

Xǐ is a sculptural vase inspired by the Chinese ligature for Double Happiness “shuāngxǐ”. This character, which is typically associated with marriage, is mimicked in the design, transforming the block like form into rings of varying widths, heights and materials, when pairing the vases in a set of two to stand side by side.

The modern interpretation of this symbol uses interchangeable rings allowing the user to customise an individual or pair of vessels in either symmetrical or asymmetrical forms, creating their own sculptural designs.

The vases / sculptures utilise luxury materials and finishes including Carrara marble, Nero Marquina and polished stainless steel creating a sculpture with personality and boldness with the black and white and mirrored surfaces. Pieces are designed for decorative use on entrance hall tables and buffets, side, coffee and dining tables or bedroom and living room areas.
